You arrive at the Simbu Riverside lodge, stretch your legs, freshener up, board your vehicle and continue your road trip to stop over at Mindima village, home of the Oma Masalai (Skeleton  Dancers) Here again you will be given a warm welcome with a singsing and a traditional courtship  dance performance, the village guide will explain to you as the performance proceeds.

The skeleton dancers also referred to as “Oma Masalai” will also come out and perform for you,  enjoy another tasty ‘mumu” before boarding your vehicle for the drive to Mt Hagen.

You change vehicles in Mt Hagen and your lodge van picks you up for another 30 minutes drive  up to the foothills of Anji Mountains, upon arrival you check into your bungalow (Triple share)

Today will be the longest day of your tour as it involves a lot of activities and long drive on some gravel  road that’s bumpy. You must rest early tonight as you will visit another local tribe in the morning.

After Breakfast depart the lodge for Anji Village, typical of the highlands region, you will be welcomed with a singsing and dance, another mumu goes with the singsing, take time to see  firsthand the village hamlets, gardens and way of life of the Melpa people.

You return to the lodge and take it easy, bird watching from the varendah of the lodge or go  walking through their lush forest and see some of the orchids and birds unique to the highlands of  PNG. Even though today takes you out of the lodge, and into another highland’s village, it will be a slow day so you  can take your time, take photographs and mingle with the villagers.

Your accommodation here is in a bungalow triple share, Kumul lodge gets very cold at night as it is located  on high altitude of PNG.
