Canoeing is one of the best ways to explore the deep woods of the Gauja National Park and to connect with the surrounding presence of mother nature. Today you will have a relaxing day on the river while enjoying Gauja valley's natural beauty, accompanied by bird songs and the gazes of curious deer.



Our 23 km trip will start in the picturesque village of Ligatne, famous for it's 19th century wooden architecture and we'll gradually paddle our way to the town of Sigulda, known for it's beautiful location in the forests of Gauja National Park. We will see some for impressing sights on the way such as the breath-taking castle of Turaida and the Sigulda Bridge.

During our tour we'll have the chance to make a stop to explore the woods and to make a barbeque. Nothing can give you more satisfaction than to roast some food above a campfire, while observing the breath-taking scenery surrounding you.


Gauja National Park

Established in 1973 Gauja National Park is the oldest of all Latvian national parks and with more than 91.000 hectares it's also the largest national park in Latvia. It's famous for its biodiversity and great variety of natural scenery. It is home to many wild animals such as lynx, foxes and deer and has many interesting landforms such as sandstone and dolomite cliffs. You can easily spot rare birds such as woodpeckers, eagle-owls and kingfishers.
